Mikan-chan always knows how Mei-Shun feels. When the latter takes rest on a futon mat with a fever, the former immediately joins while relaxes at her best place, looking indifferent when her mom is in better condition. All the same occurs between her parents — when Shin and Mei-Shun are in a bad mood after quarrel, their fluffy daughter rushes toward them with her tail upheld, turns on her back purring.
Ms. Piano takes good care of my mom who currently in practice of “Fantasia” from Nausicaä, Princess of Windy Valley. It looks she has to avoid any interference in mind while learning the score. I feel a bit jealous when she is in such a concentration, sometimes jump over her feet on pedals. They chose this name for the lovely Amazonian manatee at 熱川バナナワニ園. Meaning in Portuguese “together”, they express thankfulness to him staying with us so far and hereafter. It reminds Mei-Shun of a dog kept by the landlady of the residence Shin and she lived just after marriage. From 4th floor balcony, she often called him Jun-jun who never looked up to find her.
It looks mom tries to stop thinking about 師範 certificate of 菊ノ上流, a Japanese dance party she belongs to. As an alternative, she discussed with Ms. I to pass the 4th grade test held by a national entity within this month. We have 夏至=geshi, the 4th of summer 二十四節気 today. The longest daytime in an year should serve for a romantic dinner in sunset for example, yet rainy season often prevents us from doing so. Mei-Shun gave Princess Cymby pots 2 kinds of fertilizers; one is liquid for once a week, the other solid once a month. Satisfied at their livelier looks, she found smaller (=younger?) princess accommodates an unique friend, another baby mantis. Can you kind followers recognize him/her below? Interestingly, he/she has tabby in legs, seems to camouflage him/herself as a plant.
Tora-chan has several safe places to relax on, except for her outdoor bed beside mom-in-law’s living room. It might be one of them, a compressor unit of air-conditioner at next-door the Ys. She seems to choose the best place according to circumstances, not always follow mom-in-law who cannot but welcome her little friend anytime when she rushes into our front door.
One of Mei-Shun’s favorite shops there is 陶柿園. They sell a lot of tableware including these chopsticks rests. Could you see cute fishes swimming in clear glass water? Real sight of them is available in a garden of 5-floor building where various restaurants serve you. Actually, it is not so easy to find such places along narrow, winding lanes. He is a thoroughbred guy in shining white coat. His tail is so beautiful — long, blonde and straight, cut neatly at the bottom.
