Great to see you again, Your Highness. Your advent is to celebrate Christmas with Shin and Mei-Shun, isn’t it? Since divided your tangled roots, she thought you would take a few more years to bloom. You kindly encouraged her to recover from the disease she had approx. 4 years before. Health and prosperity is sincerely wished for yourself of course, and may our days be merry and bright.
One week has passed since artificial, removable Ame-chan arrived in Mei-Shun’s mouth. She works quite well, helps her owner masticate anything: sticky foods like baguettes (baked yesterday) and rice cakes are tasty for the latter, yet dangerous enough to require heavy chewing. Only one fault of the former is that foods easily come into a narrow space between a soft denture base and natural molars.
Thank you so much for your invitation, Kaori-san. It is the first time for Mei-Shun to visit Mr. and Mrs. M’s home in Tokyo, with 石神井公園 Park taking just a few minutes to walk. Shin often enjoyed driving to there with his wife on weekends when they lived in 杉並 Ward. Rowing a boat on the pond, 三宝寺池 beyond a roadway has never been their goal.
Mei-Shun resumed to walk to the nearest shrine, drew two 吉=kichi, lucky omikuji lots consecutively. They mean quite similar as saying; those who see the 45th lot have everything in full shape, while those who do the 49th have everything satisfied like 仲秋の名月 with no clouds. Both advises her to stay humble, and it would go better with Gods’ protection.
Mei-Shun’s smaller molar, younger Ame-chan on right upper jaw made a narrow escape. Although infected and cracked, inner nerves were partly kept healthy. Well, thank you so much, late elder Ame-chan. You saved your twin sister by sacrificing yourself, informing this careless owner on troubles in another half of you by the first, slight pain just like the one she felt in you last year.
Congratulations! Although Mei-Shun’s mother is not interested in longevity, her daughters are so happy to see her get along toward 喜寿=kiju, the age of joy. The younger visited her place today, enjoyed chatting on lunch. “If I could live here until 米寿=beiju, 88 years old, please do not hesitate to celebrate it”, she joked. Well, eleven years will make both of your daughters elderly as well.
This time has come for Shin and Mei-Shun to enjoy 水無月, celebrating their halcyon life from the start of 2018. Looking at a clear full moon last night, they were full of thankfulness. With southern shutters kept open wishing to be blessed by the gentle light, they said good-night to Mikan-chan. And in this morning, according to weather forecasts, current rainy season seems to have gone!
Lunar May has started from yesterday. It was a bit cloudy, yet clear enough to let Mei-Shun see lovely horseies for lessons. Oh, this was 大安 as well, the best among 六曜 for her elder sister’s birthday. “Congratulations!” e-mail took just a minute for a thankful reply. She was too tired to play piano at night, while a good result on a weight scale shed bright light into her mind.
Thank you so much, Dr. A, family and friends of Mei-Shun for taking care of her on this matter. Actually, the ex-inpatient has not had any time to think about it until Dr. A gave her a “Yes” phone call: she was forced to study the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, related regulations and current management of this law to prepare for the seminar held on last Friday.
So this is it for February, just 4 weeks normally: 2018 looks forward 2020 as the next leap year. As mentioned before, those with following three Chinese zodiac symbols子=ne, 辰=tatsu or 申=saru had February 29th in years they were born. Mei-Shun is included in this 25% group with the last one, feeling nice to see her special date today which comes 100%.
