It is hard to dance in the middle of summer of course, yet humidity might be worse: it often causes a heatstroke indoors. “Dry” mode of air conditioners therefore works very well this season. And fans are worth your purchase, to make a good air circulation. Now, let’s start practicing Suisen-Tanzen.
Japanese dance
Lesson in Yukata
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun a yukata. It is so happy to receive items used by revered persons. From the beginning of summer, we are allowed to replace normal kimono with yukata. It is made of cotton, to put on after taking bath in ancient times. No kimono underwear is necessary. Obi would be easy han-haba (=half-width) ones.
Lesson Resumed
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun the first lesson after the latter left hospital. Three-month intermission does not seem too long to get their concentration back. Fine perspiration. We love Japanese dance, the best and admirable art.
Shall you dance?
StandardTwo months have passed since Mei-Shun had the operation. It looks easy to live a normal life at home, yet only for you in normal health. For an ex-patient, it is quite difficult to do similar to yesterday. However, she could not but going forward little by little, as much as possible. Let’s resume practice. Why don’t you put on kimono?

Standard2015 Performance
Standard… has been set on November 15th, Sunday. Mei-Shun had just started to learn how to dance Suisen-Tanzen before her hospitalization. She has 7 months left for lessons, long enough to make it – hopefully.
Dear Followers,
StandardDoll Festival
StandardMaster Mei-Shu has three granddaughters. When Mei-Shun visited her today, she found beautiful hina dolls set in the corner of the lesson room to celebrate those three girls. In Suisen-Tanzen, a dancer carries a long, fur-headed spear. We use a bamboo stick for practice, yet have to be very careful for a while not to hurt the dolls.
Light Lesson
StandardToday’s lesson was given at night. Mei-Shun has to be careful not to make Master Mei-Shu feel too tired. She often complains about her physical burden to go to Tokushima once a month. Since Master Mei-Shu is our chairwoman of the board of directors while the best dancer, it is her duty to instruct our directors.
Before Shiokumi …
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave another idea for Mei-Shun’s 2015 performance – “Suisen-Tanzen“, an image of a flamboyant guy strolling through the downtown at night in the Edo period. Master might think of a kind of resemblance between “Shima-no-Senzai“, 2013 performance by Mei-Shun, and “Shiokumi“.
