Here Mei-Shun exchanged vases of Christmas/wedding anniversary and birthday gifts from Shin. The former had fresh roses, carnations and lisianthuses already removed to dry, needs no water any more. Mr. Green is therefore suitable to accommodate it, let the latter relax in a glass tall and large enough. And the owner is so vigorous that brings this vivid, aromatic one to the bedroom every night.
As sweetest Mikan-chan kindly posted yesterday, lunar 2023 started on Sunday. Shin and Mei-Shun visited the nearest shrine, greeted Gods before receiving omikuji lots from a priest. On solar 元旦=New Year’s Day, the husband was given 小吉=sho-kichi, a little lucky while the wife 吉=kichi, lucky. This time both of above couple saw 吉=kichi in different numbers.
Purr, I’m back to mom’s arms in 9 flowers and 20 buds of Princess Cymby. Total 29 sounds like 肉球=niku-kyu, one of our millions of charming points when 9 added to the tail, quite makes sense by my action. “Yes, you are always perfect”, she says. “We had lunar 2023 start from yesterday when you gave 9th flower in early morning. Dad is also delighted with you, our sweetest hearts”.

We have 大寒=dai-kan today, the 6th of winter 二十四節気 and the bona fide last of these 24 seasonal points. It means the coldest weeks among an year, while Mei-Shun enjoys warm sunlight from southern windows. An arrangement gentle Professor M gave her consists of many spring flowers including lovely cherry branches. Oh, they are already in 70% blossom.
Amazing 13 years and a half have passed since Mei-Shun saw her beloved father depart. His younger daughter asked for a photo used at a hall. She recently found its frame got yellowish, changed from original silver. A new stand shaped like a pine cone was therefore purchased. Then she ordered a trial copy by her own picture, at a shop on the same floor with the place of みたらしちゃん.
A few years seem to pass after Mei-Shun bought a bucket to put horsey gears within. It has served her by normal jobs; to water outdoor units of air conditioners in summer, to wash cleaning rags for example. Meow, it was the date of “Arles” for me and mom yesterday. On the other hand, dad ordered above pie as her birthday cake from that pâtisserie on 13th. She won the fève in the first piece chosen, so he safely left others to celebrate lunar Christmas today. We stayed good girls on weekend, while he went on a two-full-day business trip to Hong Kong. Unique chocolates would also arrive at night.

Purr, great to see you start to bloom, Princess Cymby. Or you are I who came back to celebrate mom’s birthday tomorrow. Dad also returned from two-night business trip to Nagoya, bringing home one of her favorite sweets 外郎. She brought me to a horsey riding club this afternoon, enjoyed lessons with Mr. Happy Crescent and Princess Maria on her last day of current age.
