Ripe Gingko

Standard

A bit smelly, it prevents Mei-Shun from walking on fallen fruits. 乙戸沼 Park is a public one, which Tsuchiura City is in charge of, regularly cleaned and treated. Weeds are well cut in summer to avoid vexatious flies and mosquitoes, serve us a fine environment to walk and jog. However, this autumn has much rain. Many of workers who take care of parks are gray-haired maybe, give labor in clear days only. Thanks to it, beautiful cherry leaves turned into red were kept under the trees.

Another Half

Standard

Thank you so much, Mr. and Mrs. F. They are friendly owners of parking space we rent for guests. Tall and gray-haired Mr. F appears in person to bring summer gift to us, always greets touching his hat while small and gentle Mrs. F does for winter. Oh, please stop bowing so much. The former told Mei-Shun in June to give new rice, and really did today. Speaking of which, she found all rice harvested on walking way the other day. Does it mean she has used their private lane between paddies for free?

Pebbled Foot

Standard

Thank you so much, Dr. I. She is Mei-Shun’s home dermatologist. She shaved her left sole to pick up a kernel out of a corn. Mei-Shun actually had two, with bigger one grown up to give her a sense of discomfort. “Here it is,” said Dr. I showing it in light yellow. Oh, what a big one! She means, as a rolled-up skin ball around 5mm in diameter. It is so weird to have such a vegetable in you, isn’t it?

Tatami Moon

Standard

She appeared from under a fan. It is amazing how quick our new tatami mats change their color — just weeks have passed since they replaced our older ones. Juliet asked Romeo no to swear by the “inconstant” moon that monthly changes in her circled orbit. Well, so she does even under our feet, dear lovers.

Calming Rain

The two men crouched by our troubled dishwasher and discussed, resulted in an initial failure of the appliance maker. Gray-haired gas fitter left saying good luck, younger salesperson stayed to call a repairer. The latter was driving around here by chance, visited us in a minute. He aligned the machine, told Mei-Shun that the door had not been locked enough. She tried once again, succeeded in making it start. Hi, Mikan-chan, what a good girl you’ve kept, with so many male strangers!

In Full Green

Standard

Weeks have passed since Mei-Shun visited 乙戸沼 Park last time. Cherry blossom has all gone, gingko babies have grown up, left deep green on branches. It is very nice to walk under these gorgeous parasols. Wind is so cool after surfing on the pond. You would find blue irises greeting while going across a wooden bridge, followed by a lot of grey, big-mouth friends.

Emergency!

Standard

While Mei-Shun relaxed at nearby beauty salon, a slight accident occurred in her … lower body. Something began to knock her from inside, getting stronger little by little from a castanet via small and big drums to a cymbal. She immediately left with a frozen smile on the face, drove carefully to home. Yes, she made it — a narrow escape.

Horse in the Rain

Standard

They looked quite all right. It was Mei-Shun whose concentration wondered around the elliptical riding ground, going counterclockwise. She likes to see rainy sight, hesitates to step into it without any gears. However, Shin and mom-in-law never share her feeling — could you stop using her favorite umbrella as a walking stick?

Tasty Floor?

Standard

Mei-Shun spilled olive oil in the kitchen this morning. She was shocked first, and thought after a moment that it was not so awful. This ingredient is not only a great source of unsaturated fat but also reputed as a fine cosmetic. Then why don’t we make up the floor with it? A bit slippery though.

Last Mistake?

Standard

Mei-Shun went to Shinagawa for a haircut and lunch with Shin. He has been in the busiest time of the year. We discussed on the phone to exchange his souvenir from Kyushu and clothes. Mei-Shun prepared it in a small bag, bring it down to the porch and — left it there. Oh- oh.
