Horse in the Rain

Standard

They looked quite all right. It was Mei-Shun whose concentration wondered around the elliptical riding ground, going counterclockwise. She likes to see rainy sight, hesitates to step into it without any gears. However, Shin and mom-in-law never share her feeling — could you stop using her favorite umbrella as a walking stick?

Tasty Floor?

Standard

Mei-Shun spilled olive oil in the kitchen this morning. She was shocked first, and thought after a moment that it was not so awful. This ingredient is not only a great source of unsaturated fat but also reputed as a fine cosmetic. Then why don’t we make up the floor with it? A bit slippery though.

Last Mistake?

Standard

Mei-Shun went to Shinagawa for a haircut and lunch with Shin. He has been in the busiest time of the year. We discussed on the phone to exchange his souvenir from Kyushu and clothes. Mei-Shun prepared it in a small bag, bring it down to the porch and — left it there. Oh- oh.

Don’t Read

Standard

No, I’ll never let mom do it. She ignores me when this floppy one is in her hands. I do not like it. See what happens to him under me. Now I’ve made it. Meow.

Well, thanks and good job, Mikan-chan.

Look at me.

Funny Pieces

Standard

Mikan-chan knows well the best place to take a nap. Her current favorite is a narrow space in oshiire (=Japanese-style closet) of our bedroom. Here is the way she sometimes notifies mom where she stays. And please find coins which Shin generously left in the pocket.

Hi, mom.

Hi, mom.

A Pot Cat

Standard

Tora-chan likes to rest in a plant pot these days. It might work as a stomach warmer in the morning, facing east. Her tabby coat looks so much harmonized with the soil that we are surprised when she jumps toward us at the porch.

Burned Corn …

Standard

It’s normally all right. Mei-Shun is not so bad at making popcorn. However, she turned a wrong page this morning – most of them are browned or even blacked, smelling burned. Oh no, we would like popped ones. Tomorrow again.

Nicely Returned

Standard

One night later, shocked garlic looks all right in a soy-sauce pool. And that strong scent is recovered. Good boys, Shin would be satisfied with you. Osechi, rice cakes and sweets have made us weigh a little (?) more, so see you next week.

Shockingly Dried

Standard

Mei-Shun’s mother has a recipe of soy sauce-soaked garlic chicken. It tastes good, Shin likes it very much. Looking into the refrigerator, Mei-Shun found a bundle of garlic. It seemed all right, but quite light … wow. Completely dry! After peeling, they are just like cashew nuts.

Getting cold, Getting sweet

Standard

Shin loves to have a morning nap on the sofa. Mikan-chan never comes close to him in summer, while takes opposite actions in winter. Her sweet meows wake Shin up, to open his arms and let the baby girl in. Feeling a bit envy, Mei-Shun prepares breakfast – now, it’s ready. Hi babies, it’s time. Still sleepy? Oh-kay. Here is tickling fingers!
