We have 立春=risshun, the first of spring and whole 二十四節気 today. It means to get warmer on lunar calendar, while still in cold weather on solar one normally. Yes, it is quite normal for us to put on thick sweaters and coats within February. However, thinner ones are often chosen this winter. Less snow, much more rain. The latter prevents Mei-Shun from going to see lovely horseies.

So 2020 is, since we are in 子=ne, mouse of Chinese zodiac or 干支=eto. Others are 辰=tatsu, dragon and申=saru, monkey years come in every 4 years. Mei-Shun was born in the latter, lucky to have one more day at the end of this month. And one of the most interesting matters for her is that above three animals are small-large-medium in size respectively.

With 2-day spring, winter came back to me, hiss! Noisy storm outdoors, knocking around my tail indoors. Mom, where have you been in early morning? Mei-Shun was a bad old girl this week — she did not well listen to the radio program of Spanish. However, since she has already learned how to play Nocturne “posthumous” composed by Master Chopin, this romantic piece is now on the list of her scores available. Even if it does not yet flow smoothly, practice is the best way to improve. So it was for the great work by Master Bach.

And when she was washing hands in a restroom, the door suddenly opened!

Following below is a new teapot Mei-Shun purchased at her favorite shop. Its handle is put like a teacup, 90 degrees less angle compared to normal 180 toward spout. That makes it compact enough to save shelf space, while never allows her to pour by right hand only. She cannot but support the bottom by left hand covered with an oven mitten. Please keep safe such a thin arm, honey.

Meow, it’s begun to rain much earlier than weather forecasts. Mom told me so when she brought the laundry indoors. Don’t mind, they’ll be dried immediately thanks to Mr. Blue working hard today. You are just expected to hold me on legs until I fall asleep again … … oh? You smell a bit like Tora-chan. What, she was found sitting in front of our door, hiss!
