Mei-Shun has got a good idea. Beautiful precious stones should appear on cushions, instead of closed in vacant sweets boxes. And same for earrings Shin brought home for her; many of them are stored in lovely cases, others in music boxes. Now ladies and gentlemen, please relax on chatting. Mr. Emerald and Ms. Desert Star, you two have a special seat.
White Sand
StandardShin returned from Perth, Australia yesterday. He sent to Mei-Shun following photos taken at nearby dunes between business, moved her a great deal. She feels that such a shining place accommodates guardian deity. That might be one of the reasons why he came home safely and quickly from Narita Airport, where access was severely hit by Typhoon Faxai.
Shall We?
Standard… go to a sushi shop for lunch, Mei-Shun told mom-in-law on Friday. “I’ve already finished it”, she replied, “how about going for dinner?” Well, it might be inconvenient for the former who is quite getting along on 8-hour carbo method. However, laziness toward weekend let her start breakfast around 10 : 30 — rather brunch. Why doesn’t she put priority on happy face of the latter?
Monkey Slips?
StandardIt seems 百日紅=saru-suberi, crape myrtles like weather of this summer: much rainfall and short heat waves. Mei-Shun enjoys one planted in backyard of the northern neighbor every morning, while finds some in full blossom of bright pink or white on the way to her horsey-riding club. She wishes their beauty to be kept for 100 days as mentioned in name.
Anime Model
StandardAlthough Shin is now on board for Australia, his photo taken last weekend at Kau-Hun or Jiu-Fen, Taiwan is still in the storage. It is said to be featured in 千と千尋の神隠し, a popular animation film produced by Mr. Miyazaki, Hayao. That makes sense to Mei-Shun, who had a feeling of déjà vu when she saw these buildings full of red lanterns. Parents of the heroine eat here like … pigs.
Hagi, Obana,
StandardAbove are not names of an European city or an American gentleman, yet 7 autumnal wild flowers you can enjoy in our country. They are 萩=hagi, 桔梗=kikyo, 葛=kuzu, 藤袴=fuji-hakama, 女郎花=ominaeshi, 尾花=obana and 撫子=nadeshiko found some on following kimono made of 紗=sha, a gift from Master Mei-Shu when her last student won 名取 a decade ago.
CU@Yokohama: 2
StandardIt might be the first time for Shin and Mei-Shun to pray at this 関帝廟. You need 5 long incense sticks to put into 5 burners served for each God, after bowing 3 times respectively. Then you are allowed to step forward to 5 statues in the main building. Now, it has passed 17 : 00 o’clock. Shall we stroll around a bit more before dinner at a 四川 dishes restaurant, the husband’s recommendation?
CU@Yokohama
StandardYesterday, Mei-Shun met Shin in that port city. They often drove to there for a museum, hotels and China Town while living in Tokyo, yet almost stopped it after moving into Ibaraki. Since the husband had a meeting, the wife used trains behind a few hours. It was interesting to watch one of the most populated area in our country, where Shinkansen bullet trains pass in a second.
New Moon
StandardIt is called 八朔=hassaku, meaning lunar August 1st today. Mei-Shun meant to walk to the nearest shrine early in the morning before rainfall, yet it was too late. Such a dim, 100%-humid weather could prevent her from visiting there even if she brings one of her favorite umbrellas. Anyway, a night without moonlight lets her play “Clair de Lune” by Master Debussy.
Farewell & Hello
StandardMademoiselle Vert, you decided to say it at last. Mei-Shun found one of lovely green flowers closed and a little browned the other day. It happens to one after another, only 10 are still kept fresh among 28 twins this morning. It breaks her heart, yet should be accepted as what every life on earth has to face. Please take her admiration for your beauty and longevity, quite difficult for human beings.
