Foggy Paddy

Standard

We meet the sun as early as 5 o’clock in summer, yet he never appears 3 hours later today. Well, quite lucky for Mei-Shun — it is so nice to walk in morning fog. Birds seem stay in the bed, so do annoying flies above muddy water. She could save sunscreen cream as well, only a cap would work in this cool condition.

We Love Kyoto

Standard

Kaori-san, please take our gratitude. You gave us another chance to come to this beautiful, ancient capital of Japan. Current rate of yen, however, might make our regular hotel here booked out — that is why we enjoyed a stay at our favorite one in Osaka last night. We took a local train after a slight exercise of walking to the station one more stop away. Clouds in the sky and summer hats nicely protected us from ultraviolet rays.

Our Old Osaka

Standard

It is a decade ago when Shin was transferred to and stayed in Osaka alone for half an year. We discussed over and over whether Mei-Shun would go with him or stay in Ibaraki with mom-in-law. The latter finally won our choice, so Mei-Shun visited his apartment only twice when he moved to and leave that room.

Purr and …

Standard

Warm weather of these days is very comfortable for me. My favorite place is this winter bed stored on the roof floor. Mom gets up 5 o’clock in the morning to let me out of the cage. I eat, patrol before going up to there. But my peaceful nap is sometimes interrupted by an interloper, hiss! Mom calls her Tora-chan. I don’t know her, nor intend to make friends with her, hiss!!

Curled Up

Standard

It was really like summer today. I looked for the best place to take a nap, finally stayed in my current bed during daytime. Mom opened windows, nice wind smoothes me down. Purr, I love natural air … oh? Already in the evening? Where’s mom? Ah, she is dozing off on the sofa. I prefer her legs covered with a blanket.

In Full Green

Standard

Weeks have passed since Mei-Shun visited 乙戸沼 Park last time. Cherry blossom has all gone, gingko babies have grown up, left deep green on branches. It is very nice to walk under these gorgeous parasols. Wind is so cool after surfing on the pond. You would find blue irises greeting while going across a wooden bridge, followed by a lot of grey, big-mouth friends.

Stop Air Conditioner

Standard

I prefer natural temperature after winter. I love stoves, but dislike that humming one set high on the wall, hiss. Let’s go up to roof-floor landing where mom brought my beds. Oh, this pink one looks more comfortable — that cushion put within was too high before. She walked out, I wonder? Purr, it’s not bad.

Green Start

Standard

Here you find a rice planter, for which these lovely boats full of young babies are waiting. It is very nice that watered paddies are not so shiny as Otonuma is even early in the morning. Mei-Shun feels happy to walk along them, greeting several other walkers and dogs.

Sakura Festival

Standard

It is called 乙戸沼=Otonuma Park, accommodating a quite large pond. Running/walking courses surround the pond hemmed by many cherry trees. You can see various waterfowls while pigeons play in a canal with this tiny cascade. Sporadic fountain-like spray is not to catch your eyes but to uptake oxygen into water.
