Here you find a rice planter, for which these lovely boats full of young babies are waiting. It is very nice that watered paddies are not so shiny as Otonuma is even early in the morning. Mei-Shun feels happy to walk along them, greeting several other walkers and dogs.

Happy Birthday
StandardTo you, Professor S from Mei-Shun and Mikan-chan. This morning gave the former a chance to enjoy beautiful 八重桜 bloom at 乙戸沼 Park while the latter to relax in Lemon after a long intermission, before moving into her favorite bed. Still feeling winter, honey? That excellent lady was born in the middle of spring.
Sakura Festival
StandardIt is called 乙戸沼=Otonuma Park, accommodating a quite large pond. Running/walking courses surround the pond hemmed by many cherry trees. You can see various waterfowls while pigeons play in a canal with this tiny cascade. Sporadic fountain-like spray is not to catch your eyes but to uptake oxygen into water.
Sleeping Orange
StandardYour Highness
StandardPlease find Momo-chan, our garden princess. How shiny she is! It seems to Mei-Shun that this 80% blossom is the best. On the other hand, 染井吉野 in the park where she walks in the morning blooms still in 30%. There are 八重桜=yae-sakura trees as well, whose gorgeous flower we could see a month later. Such diversity of spring pink makes our mind really full of joy.
Third Player
StandardFollowing ume and daphne, here narcissus comes. Yesterday hit 20 degrees Celsius, today almost the same with stormy southern wind. Hello guys, nice to see you. Please take care, we are still in March.
Thrilling Drive
StandardFog might cover throughout the Japanese Archipelago this morning. It was adventurous to drive in such a circumstance. Today is the last of lunar January, with 啓蟄 (=keichitsu, the third of 24 seasonal terms meaning the day animals come out of hibernation) on Saturday, and the temperature reached 20 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. Oh, little dandelion, it is too soon for you to bloom, isn’t it?
Joy of Spring
StandardMei-Shun visited a beauty salon in Shinagawa. She enjoyed many plum trees in blossom along Joban Line. And on the way to the saloon, bright pink color jumped into her eyes — it is 河津桜=kawazu-sakura, a cherry breed which blooms in early spring. After the haircut, she met with Shin at a hotel which accommodates one of their favorite Japanese cuisine restaurant.
Sleepy Spring
StandardFreezing Morning
StandardOur Aladdin stove starved last night. Mei-Shun found it just after taking a bath, set the timer to let him start at 5:00. She wished it worked for left 10 minutes, yet he denied to. It might be the coldest morning of this winter — still in the dark, our gas range made a good job to warm the room while serving us hot tea, soup and lemonade.
