They said rainy season tentatively returned, yet it rather seems a typhoon. Windy, rainy, cloudy, sunny and windy again in every 10 minutes. Such a day would never let Mei-Shun go out to see horseies. Dearest One-one (or Last One), please wait your mom of brown sugar until next week. She would practice “La chevaleresque” by J. F. F. Burgmüller at home, dreaming of galloping with you.
Teddy and Turtle
StandardMeow, dad’s friend gave me this mini-cushion to relax on. Sniff, sniff, hum. Not so bad, yet he has a zipper on the back. If I curl on him as mom expects, something might be closed within. So he is yours, dad, why don’t you replace him with the towel turtle whom you hold on the sofa instead of me in summer? Mom saw the latter’s soul in 乙戸沼 the other day, finding him not a tortoise.

Summer Sky
StandardAfter they declared that rainy season looked to have left Kanto area at the end of June, the soonest on meteorological records, we really have torrid summer. Weirdly windy from early times, it has been all clear for several days in a row. Since Mei-Shun prefers quiet mornings, she is a bit tired of such a condition where no window could be opened to give stuffy rooms a good airing.
Peanuts Serve
StandardShin rarely had a day off yesterday. He cleaned his study room while Mei-Shun lead her normal day till noon. They went out for lunch at いしじま, one of their favorite soba restaurants nearby. Looking up from a menu, the wife found a poster featuring bottled beer from K. company produced at their Toride plant. It means freshness available only in Ibaraki Prefecture!
Literal Torture
StandardThe other day, Mei-Shun was told “d, e, b” meaning “fat” in Japanese and what’s more, TWICE by a vocabulary textbook she has used for a decade. Such a severe comment from her mentor — certainly, she felt tired in the morning from last Monday to Thursday, took a nap after breakfast or before lunch. She gained back a half of sugar back, yet still stay beyond the maximum line to be called so.
Half Passed
StandardThis time has come for Shin and Mei-Shun to enjoy 水無月, celebrating their halcyon life from the start of 2018. Looking at a clear full moon last night, they were full of thankfulness. With southern shutters kept open wishing to be blessed by the gentle light, they said good-night to Mikan-chan. And in this morning, according to weather forecasts, current rainy season seems to have gone!
Three Years
StandardThey say 石の上にも三年 in our country, meaning a specific duration on a matter could bring an accomplishment. Well, Mei-Shun has been on horsey’s back for these 2 years and 9 months. She found that lovely Ms. I said “you can gain the 4th grade soon” one year ago on her 3-year diary. She must have made progress in riding technique, yet gallop is the highest wall.
Summer Delicacy
StandardMei-Shun’s elder sister sent the younger boxes of cherry as usual. Not only this excellent looks but also taste is just incredible, makes eyelids of anybody lightly closed to feel it as much as possible. With a slight problem to be a bit too big in quantity, as Professor K used to give fresh しらす=shirasu, baby sardine caught at 片瀬海岸 where he lived with his gentle wife.
7-5-3 Method
StandardA weather forecaster talked about it the other day. That does not mean our celebration for children’s growth but distance to a rain front which brings current season on Japanese Archipelago except for Hokkaido. When it stays 700km away from Tokyo area, we could see the sun. If it comes up to 500km, it would be cloudy. And pressed above to 300km or nearer than 八丈島 Island, it would bring rainfall.
Called Pink
StandardYesterday morning, Mei-Shun drove to one of her favorite bakeries. She needed to turn to the left at the second corner, yet to the first with no intention. Then she came across it — a silk tree in full blossom. Hello, great to see you in the same color. She tends to choose bright shade in clothes and accessories on rainy days, refraining from perfume while going opposite to sunny weather.
