Hamo Season
StandardDaggertooth pike conger, Muraenesox cinereus, is popular in western Japan. Boiled and cooled in iced water, they are served with pickled ume plum paste. The white meat looks refreshing, tastes nicely light. They give good energy to keep yourself healthy during humid, hot summer.
Lesson in Yukata
StandardMaster Mei-Shu gave Mei-Shun a yukata. It is so happy to receive items used by revered persons. From the beginning of summer, we are allowed to replace normal kimono with yukata. It is made of cotton, to put on after taking bath in ancient times. No kimono underwear is necessary. Obi would be easy han-haba (=half-width) ones.
Following Babies
StandardAmazing. How many grapefruit seeds did Mei-Shun plant? They took 2 weeks more to come out than the first one. Oh, you are twins. Would you like more space? And you are too close to your eldest sister — do we have to remove such little, cute ones?
After 10 Wks
StandardSo happy to hear from Dr. A that Mei-Shun has no problem in the blood, either. The scar is getting smaller thanks to a “magic” tape, which actually works with steroidal agent. Further efforts (including diet!) would lead to better conditions. July 10th is set for the target to lose X kg.
Watermelons
StandardWhole ones are still in the field for finishing sunbath. If you are on the waiting list, find cut ones at stores. They are reasonable and ripe enough, but might be too cold for some stomachs. Nature knows what to eat right now.
Roof Vegetables
StandardShin started to cultivate vegetables on our roof floor. Tomatoes and cucumbers have bloomed in one month, yet corns look a bit sick. They grow too fast to keep themselves healthy? We hope the phosphate fertilizer would work well — hey, pretty guardian, please let mom take their photo.
Missing You
StandardSix years have flown since Mei-Shun’s father passed away. It seems that time gives two gifts: it turns a grief of losing beloved one into a beautiful memory, while let you try to do better expecting his gentle nod in mind.

Lazy Days
