It took two weeks for the ceramic tooth to be planted into Mei-Shun’s mouth. Her dental clinic has two rooms for treatment; one is full of that scary chairs with silver apparatuses and compound-eyed lights, the other looks like a beauty salon to serve relaxation for patients. This time, they guided her into the latter, for a simple attachment and — thanks to the amount she paid maybe.
thanks
Knee Pain
StandardMei-Shun has felt something weird in her right knee from last week. Ah, her 6-day-a-week practice before stage performance had been too hard, it seemed. Her mother also has a trouble in knees, yet it simply caused by aging. She advised her daughter to see a doctor first. After making sure of no disease, she recommended a muscle training to reduce burden on knees. Yes, mom. Respectfully persuasive suggestion.
Oh My Tooth
StandardIt happened again, and at last. A metal covering set on one of Mei-Shun’s teeth jumped out of mouth while flossed. Her home dentist said that it would, anytime or in the future. They talked about a ceramic replacement at that time, with Shin’s kind agreement to finance it. Now Mei-Shun is to make a reservation. So long, partner.
Return Gift
StandardMei-Shun arranged makimono (=roll-wrapped item) for coming performance. Dancers are supposed to prepare it showing their thankfulness toward guest audiences. It must be light enough to carry, in proper size and full of wit. On the other hand, lunch boxes, tea, fruits, etc. would be served at waiting rooms for respective ryu-ha (=dance school). Invitation cards should be written before posted. So many things to do give a kind of excitement.
Horses Again
StandardDr. Y’s diagnosis was remarkably correct. Dyshidrosis symptom has 95% disappeared after a week, taking all medicines he prescribed. Left 5% is at the bottom of both palms, thumbs and several fingers. Mei-Shun resumed piano lesson, stretching exercise including push-ups from last night and — horseback riding today.
Happy Piano
StandardThanks, Mr. O. His sudden phonecall reminded us of it. Yes, our duty to let Ms. Piano have tuning once a year. Her “doctor” visited us with a big, heavy bag as usual. It was just when he finished her up that Mei-Shun remembered a slight trouble; the damper for one of D keys did not work well. However, he took just a few words before he opened the lid to show her the fixed part. Applause to this real piano master.
Introductory Lesson
StandardThanks, Maroo. He is very handsome and kind, a white pony, 20 years old, played a role of Mei-Shun’s partner yesterday. Our club let us prepare for riding; we have to brush his/her body, clean inside horseshoes, put cushions on the back, etc., before lessons. Nice idea it seems — we agree with them. Soft pats and gentle talking during preparation would help our wordless conversation.
After 23 Wks
StandardSo is a sigh of relief again. Mei-Shun feels so happy to see Dr. A, ever smiling to give a report of no problem once a month. After this “ceremony”, a small party is waiting for her at home; a sundae in the refrigerator. Her diet normally allows sweets only in the morning, yet such a treat helps her continue it.
Clever Horses
StandardThey are just great. 110 and more horses are working for a club in Ryugasaki. They work much harder than many of us; 6 days a week from 10:00 to 20:00. Rachel, the first partner of Mei-Shun, is a 17-year-old girl who has a shiny brown coat. She is kind and patient enough to follow beginners’ awkward signs to stop, walk and trot. Thanks, Ray-chan. Mikan-chan gave a permission to communicate with you. See you next week with a banana.
Shocking, but …
StandardMaster Mei-Shu kindly showed her Suisen-Tanzen performance of 23 years ago, commemorating Kikunoe-Ryu foundation. It was just excellent. Actually too brilliant for Mei-Shun to do the same. She found that the spear in her left hand must have looked almost sleeping so far. Such item symbolizes what the role has in mind. From now, her challenge to wake it up starts. Thank you so much, Master.
