They made it. Former Yama-Hoko parade of Gi-On Festival was safely held today despite raging Typhoon Nangka. 23 portable shrines were led by a number of white ban-kasa, Japanese traditional umbrellas on which town names each shrine belongs to are written. Weekdays prevented us from enjoying even serial Yoi-Yama nights this year. Dear Fune-Hoko, see you next year.

Severe Life
StandardWe heard Tora-chan’s voice in the morning. Rushed outdoors, we found her looking exhausted and scared. However, Mei-Shun was too slow to feed her who ran away from our garden in a second. Oh, such a cold nature … she might have lost in a territory fight. However, if we protect her to see Dr. O, it would mean to deprive her of the right and freedom she had won so far.

Please Save Her
StandardMikan-chan had a better result in a urinary check today. It is so much a pleasure for mom, yet she cannot stop worried about Tora-chan. Maybe she has a fever caused by the injured leg. Crispy foods should be shelved for a while, retort-pouch ones would be preferred. Dr. O prescribed an antibiotic powder to take twice a day. We sincerely hope they work.
Missing Tora-chan
Standard… for a whole day. We saw her bend the right, rear leg yesterday. It looked clear that she had a pain there, yet she never let us touch it. Did you fight with somebody? Or get a poisonous bite by a horsefly? Oh, you had no breakfast. We worried about her all day long. In the evening, when mom-in-law started watering the garden, she unexpectedly appeared from the mint bush. Welcome back, darling.
After 14 Wks
StandardSigh of relief again. This is the 4th visit to the hospital to see Dr. A after Mei-Shun left there. However, another sigh is for her plan of diet, which miserably failed so far. It is awful. Obesity is a kind of disease. All the same for the plump, or even worse because they tend to take themselves still approved to be healthy. Such an idea already looks unhealthy, doesn’t it?

StandardMei-Shun’s mother was born on August 1st. She spends her birthday at a lodge she owns in Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture. We therefore used to hold a lunch party one month earlier. This year she prefers staying at home to eating out — well, no problem. Three women lack nothing to cook and chat.

StandardIt stopped raining in the morning. We might be able to see Orihime and Hikoboshi stars at night; the former is Japanese name of Vega while the latter Altair. Mei-Shun’s wish to bind on our tree is to have good sweets symbolizing this romantic festival.
No Humid Lesson
StandardIt is hard to dance in the middle of summer of course, yet humidity might be worse: it often causes a heatstroke indoors. “Dry” mode of air conditioners therefore works very well this season.
