Start of cherry blossom, represented by 染井吉野=somei-yoshino, was announced in Tokyo today. It is measured by sample trees selected all through Japan except for northern Hokkaido and southern Okinawa. Mei-Shun visited a beauty salon in Shinagawa. She enjoyed many plum trees in blossom along Joban Line. And on the way to the saloon, bright pink color jumped into her eyes — it is 河津桜=kawazu-sakura, a cherry breed which blooms in early spring. After the haircut, she met with Shin at a hotel which accommodates one of their favorite Japanese cuisine restaurant.
春一番, the first spring storm blew in Kanto area on Sunday. A plum tree in the “backyard” began to bloom little by little. You cannot see it from anywhere but our balcony. What a nice privilege we have!
… Mei-Shun has grown around her waist. It occurs every year actually, since she has too much sweets, feasts and alcohol of great taste from the end of December to the middle of January. Now she started to reduce carbo, her favorite, in diet. It is the most feared to get weight back immediately, so good cooking to enjoy every necessary nutrient is the key.
Here are black carrots grown by Tele-farm. Now our refrigerator is full of them, with normal orange ones already stored. They will make a little earlier Christmas gifts for horses, while cooking vegetables is a lot of fun for Mei-Shun as well.
It seems one of great joys allowed only to grown-ups: we enjoyed chatting on Japanese sweets sent from Mei-Shun’s mother after dinner, late at night. Such a style of eating is awful for a good diet? Ah-ha. You are exactly right. Green tea could give damage to a sound sleep? Well, we know they say so. We would see anybody who could be good to us as Jessie, Ariana and Nicki do.
…for horseback riding. Mei-Shun had to cancel lessons three times this month, giving priority to her stage, yet missing lovely horses so much. And this morning, she was fairly felicitous to meet Curly Prince, the eldest guy among more than 100 horses owned by our club. He puts on a thick coat, might be the fluffiest as well. Yes, you are right. It looks winter has already come.
It was cloudy this morning. Well, no problem. We have daylight indoors — she prefers chilly weather to keep these lights on. And following slight sunshine in the afternoon, one of her twin sisters has woken up.
