After half a year

Standard

The eldest son of Professor S is a doctor, managing a clinic in Nakano, Tokyo. It is so nice to come here by train, chat with him before taking a kind of aesthetic treatment. A diagnosis requiring an operation has prevented Mei-Shun from enjoying this little monthly journey, yet now she is very happy to resume it.

Rainy Season Approaches

Standard

Our next-door neighbor has a unique hydrangea. Petals (not really, sepals) are colorful ranging from pale blue to pink, different from each sprig. They say acid soil grows blue hydrangeas while alkaline one pink ones. Ours is the former, so we wonder which nature their garden has.

Taller than Daddy

Standard

Our baby avocado is very flexible. In sunny morning, he tries to face to the east. As the sun comes up toward the south, he turns to the right. Mei-Shun changes place of their pot, expecting his straight growth.

Welcome Home

Standard

A gecko, or yamori in Japanese meaning “a home protector”, visited us last night. When we see them at home, it has used to bring something happy. Hi friend, nice to meet you again. Please be careful not to be hurt at doors and windows – oh, you are too quick to take a good photo.

Door to Roof

Standard

This season has come – when we start using air-conditioners, Mikan-chan flees up to the roof floor. We feel too hot there, yet she prefers such temperature. Ah, that is because your ancestors have come from North Africa – Libyan wild cats, isn’t it?

Need to Repair

Standard

15 years have passed since we moved to Ibaraki. It was our first experience to arrange rooms, decide interior design, etc. Now, hands of time have touched here and there in walls, ceilings and floors – our sweet home looks ready for refreshment.

Long-Lashed Lady

Standard

Mikan-chan has a pedigree certification. However, she looks much smaller than stereo-typed Russian Blue breed. Her round face, soft muzzle line and fluffy coat, all different from the ones awarded in cat shows. Well, does it matter? She is the prettiest in the world for us. And that is all.

Typhoon in May

Standard

It was awful last night. Typhoon Noul, changed into an extratropical cyclone, rushed over Japanese Archipelago. Growling and shaking houses like an earthquake, it really scared us. Further torturing is such a torrid weather afterward – we are not yet used to it. Let’s be careful not to have a heatstroke.

After 6 Wks

Standard

Sigh of relief: no problem in Mei-Shun’s current condition, Dr. A said. Just one thing is clear – gaining weight affects the scar resulting from the operation. The more it is pulled outward, the wider it would be. It is therefore very important for a thinner, better scar to lead a good diet.

Welcome Back

Standard

It is out of the blue – our late avocado couple left a baby! He looks just like when his parents woke up from each seed. Mei-Shun immediately changed her mind to reuse the flowerpot for newcomers. Blackened part of daddy-avo’s trunk has been cut away. Now, enjoy sunlight and water, honey.
